Curriculum Matrix

Education Pathway To Certification

The AFPS has developed a unique and exciting framework, for the recognition of skills and qualifications, for people within the Fluid Power Industry.

The Fluid Power Skills Classification and Curriculum Matrix is the vehicle which provides employers and employees with the opportunity to achieve a number of objectives, which previously have been difficult to define, including:

  • Establishing skill profiles of personnel.

  • Setting career path goals, based on an industry accepted framework.
  • Gaining industry recognition for experience gained/time served as well as training completed.

The AFPS has developed this curriculum matrix over an extensive period, having received support and encouragement from tertiary and user industry groups.

Now both employers and employees will have a nationally recognised training structure. This will provide competency benchmarks for the various skill classifications within the Fluid Power Industry.

The benefit for an employer is that of a defined standard of formal certification for each skill classification to ensure risks associated with employee selection are minimised.

The benefit for an employee is that of a national recognised formal certification process that clearly defines a career path within the Fluid Power Industry.
